An exploration of a memory of a passage in the Parisian metro.
First Contact is a sensory immersion into the Paris metro, perceived not as a mere place of transit but as a mental space saturated with presences. Bodies are brushed against, thoughts are grazed as they pass through. Passengers dissolve into point clouds, fragile silhouettes traversed by the invisible flow of their consciousness. Everything unfolds in the instant: the present is a blinding light, made of information, of fragments of lives that intersect without ever fully meeting. The film captures this density of the urban moment, where each face, each glance brushes past and vanishes at once into the current of data and memory.
English translation of monologue:
"We live in the oblivion of our metamorphosis But that echo that rolls around all day long This echo out of time of anguish or caresses Are we near or far from our consciousness..."
"Your eyes have returned from an arbitrary country where no one has ever known what a look is."
Paul Eluard
